Responsible person

A responsible person is the individual or company a regulation holds accountable for a product's compliance within a given market, a role that goes by different exact names, such as responsible economic operator or authorised representative, depending on the regulation and region.

Why it matters

Every market this site covers now requires someone answerable to be reachable inside it, so a non-EU or non-UK manufacturer selling internationally usually needs to arrange this role explicitly rather than assume their own overseas entity satisfies it.
