- 2027-08-18Battery due diligence obligations apply (postponed)Batteries RegulationChapter VIII (supply-chain due diligence for cobalt, lithium, natural graphite and nickel) of Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 was originally applicable from 18 August 2025 but was postponed by two years to 18 August 2027 by amending Regulation (EU) 2025/1561 ('stop-the-clock', adopted 18 July 2025).source
- 2027-12-11Cyber Resilience Act applies in fullCRARegulation (EU) 2024/2847 applies in full from 11 December 2027 (Article 71(2)): all products with digital elements placed on the EU market must meet the essential cybersecurity requirements, with CE marking and (from category) appropriate conformity assessment.source

- 2024-12-13General Product Safety Regulation appliesGPSRRegulation (EU) 2023/988 applies from 13 December 2024 (Article 52), replacing the General Product Safety Directive 2001/95/EC. It adds obligations for online sellers and requires a responsible economic operator established in the EU.source
- 2024-08-18Battery Regulation conformity assessment provisions applyBatteries RegulationArticle 17 (conformity assessment procedures) and Chapter VI (notifying authorities and notified bodies) of Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 apply from 18 August 2024 — from this date batteries need conformity assessment and CE marking under the new regulation.source
- 2024-04-29UK PSTI product security regime in forceUK PSTI (product security)Part 1 of the PSTI Act 2022 and the PSTI (Security Requirements for Relevant Connectable Products) Regulations 2023 apply from 29 April 2024. Consumer connectable products sold from this date need unique passwords, a vulnerability disclosure policy, a stated support period, and a statement of compliance.source
- 2024-02-18EU Battery Regulation becomes applicableBatteries RegulationRegulation (EU) 2023/1542 applies from 18 February 2024 (Article 96), save for the staged provisions listed separately. It repeals the Batteries Directive 2006/66/EC in stages.source
