REACH
REACH is the EU's chemicals regulation, which restricts and requires disclosure of certain hazardous substances in any article placed on the EU market, not just electronics. Its most relevant duty for most physical products is checking for Substances of Very High Concern.
Why it matters
REACH applies across almost every product category, including textiles, cosmetics and jewellery as well as electronics, and non-compliance is a substance-level chemical issue that testing for electrical safety or RoHS alone will not catch.
