PSTI
PSTI is the UK's Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure regime for consumer connectable, or smart, products: manufacturers must ban default passwords, publish a vulnerability disclosure contact, state a minimum security update period, and provide a statement of compliance.
Why it matters
PSTI applies to almost any UK-bound consumer product with an internet or network connection, not just obviously smart gadgets, and unlike UKCA it needs no conformity marking, just a statement of compliance, so it is easy to overlook alongside the more visible marking requirements.
