GCC (General Certificate of Conformity)

A General Certificate of Conformity (GCC) is the US self-certification document for general-use, non-children's, consumer products that are subject to a specific CPSC safety rule, based on the manufacturer's own testing or a reasonable testing programme.

Why it matters

Unlike children's products, most general consumer products can be certified without third-party lab testing, which keeps compliance costs down, but a GCC is only required where an actual CPSC rule covers your product.
